Margos Rule!

Little known fact about me.... I am a bit enamored by other people named "Margo".  It is so rare that I cross paths with another Margo that I go out of my way to point out that we share the moniker.  There are a handful of Margos who register with particular glory in my memory....

  • Margo the CPA - my mom's boss at the time - I worked there during tax seasons as a pre-teen and the staff would refer to us as "Big Margo" and "Little Margo".... Big Margo was very annoyed by this title, as any woman in her 40's would be!
  • The Camp Glen Arden Margos - when I was growing up, I attended a FANTASTIC summer camp in the glorious Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina.  At this girls' camp, there was the the requisite smattering of Jennifers, Amys, Elizabeths, etc.... but never a Margo.  Then in the summer of 1990 a rare event occurred - BAM - there were 5 of us!  (Margos, Margot, and even a Margaux)... Margot was even one of my sweet campers.  Two Margos in a cabin was mind-boggling for me.  I felt like an Amy!
  • Starbucks Margo - my barista - ok, she's actually the manager, but isn't "barista" more fun to say?    Each time I order my "Venti soy extra-foamy no-water chai latte" they comment, "Our new manager's name is Margo."  Oh, I know, my friend.  I know!
  • Client Margo - a super, fantastic, dog mama at the clinic where I consult.  She was equally joyful about finding a kindred Margo.
  • Today, I ran across Margo Donohue online.  She is a fitness blogger (among other health related endeavors) and seems to be a really cool person....  So check out her blog, and tell her Margo sent you!
  • And, of course, who could forget Margot Kidder!  Did you know she has a blog?

  1. I have to admit . . . with Lee Ann being such an uncommon name, I've always had my ears perk up when I hear it. Here are my findings:

    1. 1 Lee Ann in my high school. Not really likeable.

    2. LeAnn Rymes (sp?) - good singer

    3. Lee Ann Perry - never met her, but she's a friend of a friend in SA, and she friended me on FB. Given the name, I had to say yes!

Not exactly a lot of data points. You've done way better with "Margo," which is, of course, a terrific name!
